K-9 finds missing 3-year-old boy with autism in swamp – WGME

LEWISTON (WGME) — A police officer and K-9 got here to the rescue of a 3-year-old boy with autism after he wandered away from his Lewiston house Thursday afternoon.

Officials say the boy’s grandmother was watching him when she heard the again door shut and located that the boy was missing.

Officer Nate Hood and a K-9 named Ice have been referred to as in to assist.

Ice started monitoring the boy’s scent throughout a area close to the house, after which into the woods.

Once in the woods, Ice continued monitoring down a small path alongside the sting of a swamp the place he started indicating to Officer Hood that the boy was close by.

Minutes later, the group heard a noise and located the boy chest deep in the water, in line with officers.

Officials say the boy was safely returned residence the place his mom needed to purchase Ice an ice cream for locating her son.
